Krishna Engineering College (KEC, Ghaziabad) was established in 2004 by
Friends Charitable Society (FCS) Ghaziabad. FCS has eminent
Businessmen, Industrialists and Professionals as its members. FCS members
are also associated with other leading Educational Institutions in NCR
and other region of UP like Krishna Institute of Engg & Technology
(KIET), Inderprastha Engg College (IPEC), and Krishna Dental College (KDC)
,Krishna Institute of Technlogy(KIOT),Krishna Girls Enginering College(KGEC),Krishna
Institute of Management & Technology(KIMT). KEC has been
established as an institution for the millennium with a vision to turn
out scholars who will be Global Players when they leave the portals of
KEC. With this vision in the background, the college endeavours to impart
core technical knowledge, help students develop requisite soft skills,
instill an adaptability for change and buils cross cultural compatibility
to its students. The college is approved by AICTE (Ministry of HRD, Govt of India) and is affiliated to UP technical University Lucknow. Starting with four programmes in B Tech, the college currently offers five programmes in B Tech (CSE, IT, EEE, ECE & ME) with an approved intake of 420 students/year and an MCA program with an intake of 60/year. Within a span of 4 years, even before a batch has passed out, the college has established its credentials as an institution of choice by figuring among top 10 colleges of 128 Engg & Tech Institutions of UPTU in session 07-08.
The college has been nurtured and brought up by its founder-Director Prof T Ramanujam, a retired Air Marshal of Indian Air Force and Ex Dean of KIET and Director General Dr Ajay Sharma (Founder Director of JSSATE and Ex Director KIET)
The college infrastructure is a planned endeavour built over a period with care and concern keeping all the needs of a premier Engg Institution. The campus is located in Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, next to IAF Station Hindon and is strategically located vis-à-vis Delhi (5 Km from border), Ghaziabad (6 Km), Noida (12 Km) and other areas like Vasundhara, Vaishali & Kaushambi. The campus is spread over an area of 11 acres with plans for 2 academic blocks covering over 22000 Sqm of built up area, 4 Hostels (3 for boys and 1 for Girls) roughly with a capacity of 250 each (on an average), an Auditorium, workshops, play grounds and quarters for the employees.
Presently, the college has a faculty strength of around 110 who are well qualified and experienced. The student strength in session 08-09 is expected to be around 1620 (1440 in B Tech and 180 in MCA). .
