As of session 10-11, KEC is 7 years old. In the very first session (04-05, based on I Semester University Exams results), the college was ranked 20th among 90 odd Engg Colleges under UPTU. Subsequently, the college has been improving its performance and I year results leading to a rapid improvement in intake (in terms of PCM % and See Rank for admission).

Students have been always encouraged to involve themselves in project development and entrepreneurship. In this regard also KEC students have won laurels fro themselves and college

1 From inception, students in KEC were encouraged to develop projects working with their hands.

2. Lab kits for EE and EC branches needed in I and II years were made locally by students in 2004and 2005. This effort was sponsored by the Management

3. Power supply kits needed for most labs in IPEC were designed, developed and sold to IPEC
(Rough Cost Rs 1 Lakh). Similar Power supply kits were also made and sold to KIMT, KIOT and KGEC.

4. Faculty and students developed a multi media package for I yr subjects (Mech Engg, Elect Engg and Electronics) in 2007-08. This project was sponsored by Mgt and the product was also sold to our sister colleges IPEC, KIMT, KIOT and KGEC.

5. Student teams have developed software packages for feedback, local E-Mail, Faculty Leave, Attendence monitoring of students and Biometric Attendance for faculty

6. Ms Khushbu Mohta of 06 Batch participated in a competition by developing a module for GOOGLE – SAHANA, A Disaster Management System (Tsunami in India) and won a cash prize of US $ 2500 (Mar 2010).


7. Three students of KEC (Shashank Saxena, Abyudaya Shukhla and Avinash Verma,) have been cleared by Min of MSME to start incubators in KEC to promote their innovative projects with a total grant of Rs 19.134 lakhs. In whole of NCR, during 2010-11, only KEC has been selected by MSME for this.4 more projects have since been recommended by Dir, DI, MSME for grants in FY 10-11


8. Three students of 06 ME Batch did summer Trg in Sarla Fabrics, Mohan Nagar during 2009. Due to their innovative suggestion in respect of Heat Exchanger used in the Company, Sarla Fabrics were able to save about Rs 20 Lakhs/annum. The Company has acknowledged this contribution by our students.
