Fifth generation(5G) is the next generation cellular technology that will provide enhanced uploading and downloading speeds over the mobile network at ultra low latency, which is the time taken by data to travel between source and destination.

5G technology will allow users to download heavy contents like the HD version of any movie or games with better graphics within fractions of seconds with assurance that there will be negligible buffer time while watching movies.

Latest technologies like Internet of things(IoT) and machine to machine communication will get great push because of 5G technology. Number of devices/applications that are part of IoT can be smoothly connected.

U.S and South Korea have started commercial 5G services while Indian government is targeting 2020 as launch year for 5G.
