IQAC Internal Quality Assurance Cell

A step towards the Academic Excellence at par with top Engineering Colleges of India

In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality upgradation of Institutions of higher education, the NAAC proposes that every accredited institution establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a Post-Accreditation Quality Sustenance Measure. Since quality improvement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of an Institution's Academic Eco-system and work towards realizing the goals of Quality Enhancement and Sustenance. The prime role of the IQAC cell of KEC is to develop academic excellence as well as consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the institute.

The following guidelines facilitate the Institution in smooth functioning of IQAC. The successful implementation of the IQAC policies is the first step towards the Internalization and Institutionalization of quality enhancement. Its success equally depends upon the sense of belongingness and participation by all concerned.

Objectives

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the Institution.

  • To appraise all the stakeholders connected with higher education about the quality of education provided by the institution.

  • To review the long term goals of KEC on a broader perspective and incorporate new measures every year on the basis of experts’ recommendations.

  • To participate in the NIRF Ranking.

  • Automation of Self-Assessment Tool based on NBA/NAAC criteria.

  • To participate in the Swachhta Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions, MHRD, Government of India.

  • The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.

  • Equitable access and affordability of academic programmes to various sections of the society.

  • Optimization and Integration of modern methods of Teaching and Learning.

  • The creditability of Evaluation Procedures.

  • The adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.

  • Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Functions

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various Academic and Administrative activities of the institution.

  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.

  • Organizing workshops and seminars on Quality related themes and promotion of Quality Circles.

  • Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.

  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC/NBA based on the quality parameters.
